The next total lunar eclipse will begin when the moon moves into Earth's penumbral shadow on December 20, 2010 at 5:29 UTC. Lunar experts from NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center will be hosting two live Web chats to discuss the eclipse. On Monday, Dec. 20 from 3-4 p.m. EST, Dr. Rob suggs will answer your questions. Large Meteor Seen From West Texas...DEC15,2010

Guest241 (guest): WED 12-15-10 @ ~8:00 pm, Lake Jackson, TX, 29.04°N 95.44°W (Elev. 13 ft) beautiful meteor in WSW. At ~30 degrees above horizon -- broke into two distinct parts. Guessing fell between San Antonio and El Paso.

BrandyK (guest): Saw a huge fireball lasted about 3 seconds in the East sky traveling southwest in Midland, TX. It was a beautiful bright blue! One of the coolest things I have ever seen! I believe it was 10pm to 11:30 we don't sit outside until after 9pm and we had been out there a while.
