Green Meteor Fireball Virginia, Washington DC, Pennsylvania. 13APR2011...

From Stefan I. In DC...
My wife and I saw the meteor as well while we were crossing the Key bridge from DC to Arlington, VA. It was very bright, very fast, and looked greenish and yellow. It broke up into many different pieces in the last moment before it disappeared. Cheers, Stefan

Danielle In Fredericksburg VA...
i was watching tv in fredericksburg va and something caught my eye so i kept watching out of the window and it was a HUGE green meteor looking streak in the sky headed east to west toward the ground it looked so close like as if it was going to crash in fredericksburg, va. it was late..probably around 10-12ish? not exactly sure.

From Craig M In VA...
We saw the fireball last night.  We were traveling from Roanoke VA to Cooington Va on route 220 N. We saw it while looking North, it was  traveling from right to left, maybe 45 deg above the horizon. Had a very bright white flash at  the end, then went red, then out
Hope this helps

From Thirteenth Street In Alexandria, Virginia...
While watching Jay Leno last night (11:45 – 12:00 midnight), I saw a green flash across the sky.   We are located 10 miles south of Washington DC in Alexandria, Virginia, 3 blocks from the Potomac River.  The arched streak went from East to West while looking out north facing windows.  From the angle I was sitting, it could have been North to South.
The object/meteor looked quite large, and was a distinct shade of green with a small yellowish/orange tail.  It didn’t look like the tail was directly behind it, more to the lower right, but that could also be due to the angle of view. There was no noise, and no airplanes or jets in the vicinity.  Reagan National Airport is to the NorthEast of here, and planes can be heard every 5 minutes or so at that time of night.

From Jami S. Near Fredericksburg, VA...Hey there, I saw the fireball last night as I was leaving work. I work in south Stafford county, right off Route 17, minutes from I-95. I was walking northwest to my car and the object was moving from northeast to southwest. To me, it appeared to be heading towards the ground, so I stopped and listened for any kind of explosion or impact, LOL. It was VERY bright, the colors I saw were silver and white with a little green towards the tail. Kind of like a white hot. Reminded me of a 4th of July firework..but actually BIGGER and with absolutely no sound. It was truly awesome to see!
