Hey i live in Blind Bay British columbia - one hour east of kamloops
20 minutes west of salmon arm - last night monday may 23 2011 i stepped out side to have a smoke unsure exact time was after dark 1030 pm i was watching the bats flying back n forth eating bugs in the back yard and saw a really bright fireball shooting star but very low in the atmosphere as to be as big or bigger than a low flying 747 jet. largest fireball ive ever seen went right over the bay in northern direction. i dont see any news or reports of this in local media etc so far and ive searched it was brief and only less than 5 seconds and was gone. moving in mostly northern / slightly west direction.

E-Mail From:

J. Maxwell-Grand Canyon, AZ:
I saw this fireball. I was in the Grand Canyon, camped at mile 131 below Lee’s Ferry. I was facing upstream. The fireball passed almost directly over my head, heading also upstream. Sorry I can’t tell you N for sure as being in the Canyon is slightly disorienting, but I think that means it traveled from NE to SW.     thank you Professor!

***If you saw this fireball event, please e-mail wxtx01@gmail.com with a description including time, date, location, which way you were facing, direction object traveled (right to left etc. is OK), color, any fragmentation or extremely bright flashes, and any sounds heard i.e. booms, hisses etc. Thank you for your report***
